Originally, I was booked to fly on seat 36A but for an unknown reason, the airline put me on seat 17K. I would not have minded this if I was flying by myself, but I was with 5 other people so we all got jumbled up in that small space in between seat 15 to seat 18. However, apart from that confusion, the flight and crew were outstaning and I could not have asked for anymore apart from my booked seats. I am a great fan of this aircraft and found it absolutey confortable. However, one of the people who I was travelling wth wanted to spend a few minutes (or hours!) in the window seat, so I let her. However, while I was in her seat (17H, corridor), I noticed that it was really cold and so I couldnt sleep properly. I would advise anyone to never book a seat nearest to the corridor because the gush of wind really is irritating and there is nothing better than siiting in a window seat!

This transformation ispart of the company’s current strategy, which aims to mitigate the effects ofbelly capacity restrictions: to maximize its assets’ capacity and optimize itsresources by utilizing passenger aircraft exclusively for cargo transportation. This way, LATAM Cargo Group will be able to increase its cargo capacity andsatisfy Latin America’s current transportation needs.
Due to its suitabilityfor long haul routes, LATAM Cargo Group decided to modify this aircraft toachieve its new challenge: to temporarily fly to Asia in order to collectmedical supplies for Latin America.
“The changes we have implemented aim to quickly mitigate the impact of the reductions in belly capacity, thereby offering our clients additional alternatives. Utilizing passenger aircraft exclusively for cargo transportation allows us to move towards this goal and also to continue supporting our clients at a critical time for their businesses”, stated Andrés Bianchi, LATAM Cargo Group’s CEO.
Teams with technicalexpertise were involved in this complex project; these include people fromMaintenance, Engineering, Flight Operations, Cabin Maintenance, DCO and CargoOperations areas, among others. Once they were authorized by the competentauthorities, these teams began working on the changes.
“I am deeply grateful for the teams’ commitment, diligence and effort to this time-critical project. Thanks to them, we are able to support the supply chain and meet both countries’ and our clients’ needs in due time and form”, added Bianchi.
